Our summer season kicked off last week with a safari through the Outback in our Children’s House (preschool), Toddler and Infant Communities!
Summers at Sonnet Montessori are packed with hands on learning, activities and recreation, and a time of making new friends or connecting with old ones! Our summer program also offers limited openings for school-age students who join in all the fun of the Children’s House classrooms while also having their grade-level learning reinforced! Our extracurricular programs also offer summer sessions including gymnastics, karate and Mini Me sports! Learn more about the programs here.
During the summer, we continue our Montessori work cycle and learning in the mornings while integrating fun summer themed learning with projects, artwork, themed Montessori work and materials, hands on activities, and field trips throughout the day. We also spend extended time in our outdoor environment, and the children enjoy tending to their gardens.
This year, we are journeying through the Outback from June 12-23, discovering art in Little Picassos from June 26-July 7, going to get moving in Fun & Fitness from July 24-August 4, will be Down on the Farm August 7-18 and then exploring Earth, Wind and Fire August 21-31. We will have special guests and in-house field trips including community visitors, artists, naturalists, scientists and fitness experts and sports coaches!
Another highlight of the summers on Friday “Water Days!” The children love these days of running through the sprinklers, water games, water tables and more!
