Here at Sonnet Montessori School & Child Care, we want to wish all our families, teachers, support staff, administration and followers a very happy Thanksgiving break! We will be closed on Thursday and Friday and look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Monday!
Thanksgiving in Our Classrooms
Our Toddler and Children’s House communities gathered on the Friday before Thanksgiving to share a Thanksgiving meal together. From scrubbing tables, to place setting, to the arranging of flowers, they all helped prepare for the feast!
As usual, they made a wish together before enjoying their food: We wish for peace, food and happiness to the children all over the world.

During lunch, they also opened their gratitude jar and shared things that they are grateful for. During the month of November, they had been writing down what they were grateful for on slips of paper and placing them in the jar! They shared their thankfulness for their family, friends, school, parents and of course, their toys!
Employee Gratitude Challenge
Our community of teachers have also been participating in a gratitude challenge, with daily prompts inspiring gratitude for both the simple and significant things in life! Participating in the challenge has stirred up so many memories of positive experiences!

What We Are Grateful For
There are a few things that we want to express our gratitude for as we look back on the past year and a half that we have been under new ownership.
- We are so grateful to the children & their families that call Sonnet their “home away from home” and who bring a smile to our face every day!
- We are grateful to our communities of Prior Lake and Lakeville (and the surrounding areas of Credit River, Burnsville, Savage, Shakopee, Apple Valley and Farmington) – it’s been so fun to get to know members of our chambers of commerce and city governments, as well as to volunteer at and sponsor local events over this past year! We truly have an incredible community here in the south metro of Minneapolis-St. Paul!
- We are so grateful for how our amazing team has supported one another and been so flexible and positive in response to pandemic-related challenges, and how they remain committed to and passionate about early childhood education and the Montessori method! They are the reason why Sonnet is one of the best Montessori schools and child care centers in the south metro!
- We also are so grateful for our partnership with our sister school, the Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Centers!
- And last, we are so grateful for the leadership of our owners Jessica and Kylie, and our regional managers, Melissa and Michele, who have supported us and loved on the children and their families by being in the classrooms, by offering resources & training, inspiration & unwavering support and positivity! It’s a privilege to be a part of a team who invests into raising the next generation of world changers and who genuinely care about their team of teachers!
We wish you and your loved ones a meaningful celebration this week!
Happy Thanksgiving, from all of us, to you!
